What is your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?

Operations manager, I joined the family business.

Has Covid-19 and the lockdown had an impact on your brewery? If so, what impact and how have you responded?

The brewery has obviously taken financial strain, but we used the time to work on and improve our internal structures.

What’s new at your brewery?

We are constantly working on our up-coming seasonal and small batch brews. We prefer not to release too much info until we launch our new products. We are currently in the process of opening up a few Saggy Stone Restaurants.

What’s the best part of being a part of the South African craft brewing community?

There are a lot of new and exciting breweries and beers constantly coming out and putting a South African twist to known beer styles. It’s exciting to be a part of that and to contribute to the growing industry.

Name your favourite food and beer pairing.

Brut Lager and sushi.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?

Running the Comrades Ultra Marathon and being a mom to my precious baby girl.

Juicy Lucy from Devil’s Peak.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?

I love being outside, going for walks and getting takeaway cappuccinos.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?

Hong Kong, we sampled beers in the Moonzen Brewery where my brother brews beer.
