What is your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
Manager and brewer. Moved to the area 5 years ago, decided to try my hand at brewing, got the job, and here we are!
What’s new at your brewery?
Besides our London Dry style gin, we have a new hefeweizen, pale ale ginger beer, and a new IPA in the works.
What’s the best part of being a part of the South African craft brewing community?
The community itself. Such a great bunch of people.
Name your favourite food and beer pairing.
Halloumi cheese, sweet chilli sauce, and the bitterest IPA I can find.
What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
Starting up a sideline writing career at the age of 45.
What’s your favourite beer from another brewery?
Agar Brewery’s Tomahawk IPA.
What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
Write, spend time with the family, plenty of reading.
What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
Guinness from the source.
