What is your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I am the brewer and owner of Mountain Brewing Co.
I taught myself how to brew in 2014, and then eventually opened the brewery in 2015.
What’s new at your brewery?
Upgraded all our equipment this year so everything is new!
What’s the best part of being a part of the South African craft brewing community?
For me, it’s the fact that we’re a small group of pioneers, bringing flavour and aroma back to beer.
Name your favourite food and beer pairing.
Spicy food and hoppy beers. And yes …. lager and pizza.
What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
Keeping my wife and kids happy.
What’s your favourite beer from another brewery?
Too many to single out! Seems like a trick question 😀
What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
There are a few things. I enjoy online gaming, travelling around our country … and who doesn’t like a braai with friends!
What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
Ebisu in Japan!
